Workshops at The Environmental Center
The Environmental Center hosts workshops for the community throughout the year. These workshops are focused on educating participants about their local environment and current environmental issues through outdoor, onsite, and hands on experiences. Some workshops of the past include but are not limited to:
Water Quality Monitoring
Microscopic Exploration for Beginners
Seasonal Birding
Invasive Species Identification and Management
Native Species Identification and Management
Submerged Aquatic Vegetation Surveying
Surveying Macroinvertebrates
Thanks to the kind contributions from our sponsors and donors, we have largely been able to offer these workshops free of charge. We hope to increase the frequency and variety of workshops in the near future, and with your help, we can sustain these offerings. We wish to soon be offering some of the following workshops:
Local Kayaking Excursions
Youth Fishing Programs
Advanced Fishing Programs
Erosion: Using Stream Tables to Explore How We Can Fight Erosion
Nature Hikes
And much much more!
