Dr. Douglas Tallamy from the University of Delaware will be coming to the Museum to present a FREE talk primarily focused on the value native plants play in improving insect biodiversity.
When we design our home landscapes, too many of us choose beautiful plants from all over the world, without considering their ability to support creatures within our local ecosystems. Managing landscapes in this crowded world carries both moral and ecological responsibilities that we can no longer ignore. By planting productive native species, we can create life. Doug will explain why this is so, why it is important to restore biodiversity to our residential properties, and what we need to do to make our landscapes functioning ecosystems once again.
All donations will go towards the development of Environmental Center programming.
