In what has become something of a "Museum tradition," Don Shappelle again offers the grand finale of the annual Concert Series, sharing his wealth of Bay-inspired songs that are so evocative of his mentor, the late Pete Seeger. They're easy to sing along with, and the thoughtful lyrics always pack a punch. A staunch supporter of Chesapeake Bay clean-up efforts, Shappelle laces his songs with the beauty and magic of the Bay-shore — especially his beloved Susquehanna River. He shines a poet's light on the Bay, crafting a repertoire replete with summer memories floating on the Susquehanna and beyond. Joining Don on stage for his performance at the Maritime Museum is bassist and vocalist Don Sennett, who enhances the music with rich, vocal harmonies and creative interplay between his lively bass and Don's 12-string guitar.
The concerts are presented to a seated audience inside the museum's air-conditioned building at 100 Lafayette Street in Havre de Grace. Wine and beer are available for sale. Admission is $10 per person. There is ample parking and the building is handicap accessible. For more information, call us at (410) 939-4800.
