"Dress me up in me oilskins and jumper -
No more on the docks I'll be seen
Just tell me old shipmates, I'm taking a trip, mates
And I'll see you some day in Fiddlers’ Green..."
This supremely singable chorus has been resounding in world-wide clubs and concert halls for over 50 years, earning its author John Conolly a hearty welcome at major folk and maritime events from Brittany to Bermuda, from Washington to Warsaw and from Berlin to Baltimore. Now he’s on his way to Havre de Grace.
On Thursday, June 13th, John Conolly, the "Man of Fiddlers’ Green," and his long-time stage partner Rob van Sante, will be appearing with special guest Janie Meneely at the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, beginning at 7 p.m. A $15 per person admission is requested at the door. Drinks and snacks will sold. The museum is located at 100 Lafayette Street, near the Concord Point Lighthouse in Havre de Grace.
