Come to the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum to learn all about our fascinating local geology from an expert! Martin Schmidt, a geology teacher and author, will talk about colliding continents, mountain building and erosion, and how exactly the Chesapeake Bay came to be. He'll use Google Earth and GIS technology to show specific points of interest and engage listeners.
All those interested in geological history, or who are simply passionate about Maryland and the Bay, are welcome to attend! Q&A period to follow. Held inside our main gallery - rain or shine.
