Join us in the Environmental Center for a hands-on, family-friendly class to explore the fascinating world of soils. Use real soil samples to learn about the types of soils and their vital role in supporting life on Earth, soil layers, and the amazing creatures that live underground. Each child will create a soil-themed craft. Spend quality time with the family while gaining a better understanding of the key role soil plays in our environment.
This learning experience will be best received by 5 - 10 year old children. Parents must accompany children. No adults will be admitted to the class without children. To ensure that the class goes smoothly, please arrive at least 5 minutes early.
Pre-registration is required - classes fill up quickly. Though pre-payment is not required, we encourage you to do so to guarantee a spot in the class. The cost is $5 per child. Admission to the Maritime Museum is FREE with the purchase of the class. Adults accompanying children are free.
