Meadowvale Teacher Scavenger Hunt

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum was proud to participate in the Meadowvale Elementary School teacher’s scavenger hunt on August 23. This event was coordinated through Lauri Orzewicz, City of Havre de Grace Tourism and Visitor Center Manager.

Teams of teachers visited a number of businesses and organizations in the City of Havre de Grace to learn more about what goes on in Havre de Grace and what each business/organization has to offer. Each team of teachers was asked a question by each place of business that helped them to understand more about what each does. For example, the Maritime Museum asked, “What else is housed in the museum building other than the museum itself?” The answers were – the Boat Shop and the Environmental Center. Some of the teachers already knew the answers but many of the teachers definitely learned something new today. Once the team answered the question correctly, they were given a letter that was used later in the day to solve a puzzle.

What a great way for the Maritime Museum to spread the word on what we have to offer here and what a great teambuilding first day of school for the teachers!

Count us in for next year – we would love to participate in this great event again.
