Join Callithump for an evening of refined British mayhem! Playing foot-stomping tunes and rocking songs, Callithump brings original and ancient folk music to life. Glyn Collinson (bouzouki, vocals, stomping) comes from a long line of English folk singers. He came to the DC area to build spaceships (no kidding) and instantly fell in with the local music scene. Andrew Marcus (accordion) tours with numerous highly sought-after contra dance bands, including Giant Robot Dance. Glyn and Andrew also form the core of Frog Hammer, the DC region's premier English ceilidh dance band, and have appeared at many ceilidh and contra dances throughout the region. But this will be an evening that incorporates traditional ballads and home-made songs, lots of vocals interspersed with lively instrumental pieces. They don’t get out much, these two, what with having to send rockets into space and the like. This is a rare appearance outside metropolitan DC.
The concerts are presented to a seated audience inside the museum's air-conditioned building at 100 Lafayette Street in Havre de Grace. Wine and beer are available for sale.
