After the Spill Film Screening
Presented as part of our monthly Environmental Film Series, brought to you by the Havre de Grace Green Team in collaboration with the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, After the Spill is a powerful examination of corporate and government responsibility for the British Petroleum ecological disaster in the Gulf nine years ago. Now it is particularly important to revisit the accident, the loss of eleven lives, and its persistent environmental effects as the Federal Government attempts to open the Atlantic for off-shore oil drilling. Seismic air gun exploration and potential fossil fuel extraction, essentially the industrialization of the Atlantic Ocean, is opposed by Atlantic coast governors including Maryland’s Governor Hogan, fishing and tourism groups and environmentalists.
